The Helen III is the 6th vessel to be owned within the Glas family. Those of you familiar with the Glas family know they started in Montauk in the 1940's. The first vessel owned was a converted 38' wooden yatch named the Frances Ann. After that came the Helen, a 47' wooden ex-rum runner. The Helen II was next followed by the Hel-Cat (famous catamaran) and the current Hel-Cat II. With the addition of the Helen III, the tradition continues. The Hel-Cat dock now offers you a destination for all your fishing needs. From the largest party boat to the largest charter boat and over 60 years of experience!

The Hel-Cat II is the 5th vessel to be owned within the Glas family. Those of you familiar with the Glas family know they started in Montauk in the 1946. The first vessel owned was a converted 38′ wooden yacht named the Frances Ann. After that came the Helen, a 47′ wooden ex-rum runner. The first custom built steel vessel was Helen II followed by the Hel-Cat (famous steel catamaran) that made its mark in the 1970’s and 80’s by running trips from CT to Block Island and Montauk for monster blues, codfish and fluke. No one has ever forgotten about her trips to the secret Alligator Ledge.

Wild Bill is originally from Hartford, Conn and moved to Noank roughly 35 years ago. He started Wild Bill’s Action Sports (originally a screen printing/embroidery business) out of his home 30 years ago. Shortly thereafter he took over a tackle shop and slowly got out of the apparel business. Fishing had always been a passion of his, and charter fishing was the logical next. (His other passion is fresh roasted Colombian coffee. Ask and he will explain.) Over the past 25 years, he has been honed his craft and grown his business. All of his customers were accumulated by word of mouth and still, most are repeat customers. He takes a lot of pride in he does; producing quality fish for his customers.
